Author of ‘How Would Jesus Vote?’ might not vote at all

If religious conservatives no longer know where to turn in the presidential race, there is a new answer.

Comparing the choice to “a tornado rolling through your home or a hurricane,” the Dallas-based evangelical author of How Would Jesus Vote? broke ranks last week, rejecting Republican Donald J. Trump and arguing for not voting.

After a week when “values” voters heard the Republican nominee talk about sex tapes and Howard Stern but not faith or religious liberty, professor Darrell L. Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary wrote in Christianity Today that integrity might be more important than a “four- or eight-year choice.”

In other words, to borrow U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s line: It’s OK to “not vote” your conscience.

until Reagan sold out to the rabid antiabortionists, the biggest mistake any of the various Hamiltonian parties has ever made.

Goldwater had warned them what would happen. They refused to listen.

If Trump gets some of those folks to drop off the voting rolls, he will have done the first good thing in his life.
