Ellis County constable indicted again, this time on evidence-tampering charge
Ellis County Constable Mike Jones was arrested Thursday after being indicted on an evidence-tampering charge — his second indictment in less than a year.
Jones, who gained notoriety in 2015 after calling Middle Easterners "rock monkeys," turned himself in to Midlothian authorities and posted $2,500 bail.
The indictment accuses Jones of altering, destroying or concealing data on a county-owned iPhone in order to keep it from investigators in May.
Ellis County and District Attorney Patrick Wilson told the Waxahachie Daily Light that "the indictment speaks for itself."
