Austin assistant police chief caught going 92 mph, gets off with warning
An assistant police chief had two choice words when he was caught speeding down MoPac Boulevard in Austin last month: Holy mackerel.
The Austin American-Statesman obtained dash camera footage of a traffic stop from a Feb. 18 traffic stop, when Ofc. David Montalvo clocked APDs assistant chief Chris Mcllvain going 92 mph in a 65-mph zone on a busy highway in a police-owned vehicle.
When told how fast he was going by the officer, Mcllvain exclaimed, Holy mackerel! and explained he was headed to Waco for a KU game.
Ofc. Montalvo gave the assistant chief a warning and let him go without a citation.
