I can think of 50 cities cooler than Houston without even trying hard.

ok, it's doing well as a city these days, but "cool" it ain't.

I love the theatre, museums, professional sports, restaurants, etc ... and close to the beach! I know Austin is really awesome too. I think the local economy here must have been rated pretty high - there are jobs and housing is cheap.
Personally I would've put Boston, Baltimore, NYC, San Fran, and Chicago much higher on the list ... but it's nice to see Houston win an award for something.
