Skinner's Corner Store in Lakeport to close at end of month

Skinner's Corner Store in Lakeport will be closing at the end of this month, according to a sign posted at the business.

On the notice, Stephen Skinner writes that his family has been in the grocery business for three generations and that the decision to retire from the grocery business came after thought and a lot of prayer.

"My family and Skinner's Corner Store - Lakeport is thankful for the opportunity to have served the community for the last 14 years," the sign reads. "A special thanks to all of our loyal customers and employees who have supported us over the years."

The business is set to close Aug. 31.
