Texas man jailed at same facility he allegedly threatened to bomb

SAN MARCOS -- On Wednesday Chance Bandy found himself behind bars in the same jail he allegedly threatened to bomb.

Bandy called the Hays County Sheriff's Office around 9:26 a.m. said he wanted to talk to a detective or sergeant, according to a news release.

When the dispatcher asked him questions to find out more about what he needed, Bandy allegedly grew agitated and threatened to bomb the jail.

The threat prompted a lockdown as authorities, including the San Marcos and Austin police departments, searched the jail, the sheriff's office and the parking lot. The lockdown was lifted after no explosives were found.
