Poll: Cruz leads O'Rourke by 11 points in Texas U.S. Senate race.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, holds an 11-percentage point edge over U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-El Paso, in the race at the top of the November ballot in Texas, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

Half of Texas voters prefer Cruz in his re-election bid, compared with 39 percent for O’Rourke, the poll says.

That’s a substantially wider margin than in April 18, when another Quinnipiac University poll found Cruz with 47 percent to O’Rourke’s 44 percent.

Cruz apparently benefited from a small shift in national opinion toward Republicans in recent weeks, said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac Poll.

My guess is that Cruz supporters are so used to the state being deep red, they don't feel threatened bearsfootball516 May 2018 #6

...I see positive changes. I live in the Bryan-College Station area, a very VERY conservative area of the state. Yet I’ve seen dozen’s of Beto signs. I’ve not seen a single Cruz sign anywhere and I drive across several counties, through neighborhoods every day. Cruz might be polling higher, but lets see who goes out and votes. Not a lot of energy on the Republican side. Still, plenty of work to be done here.

Therefore their enthusiasm is lower, and they don't feel the need for yard signs. I'd be positive that voter enthusiasm is higher for Beto, but it might not matter because of the sheer number of people who vote Republican.

my neck stand up.

How in the hell can people in Texas re-elect this goon? WTF is wrong with Texans? It's scary!

A former college roommate of Cruz said he's asked regularly why he didn't smother him with a pillow while he slept when he had a chance?

It seems NOBODY likes him, including fellow Republicans. John Boehner called him "Lucifer in the flesh".

A Republican staffer was asked, "Why does everyone take an instant dislike to Ted Cruz?"
His answer: "It saves time".

Al Franken said about Ted Cruz, "I probably like Ted Cruz more than all my Senate colleagues...and I HATE him. He's toxic. He's the guy that microwaves fish in the office microwave."
