Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge Adams disciplined by state commission (re: child abuse video)
ARANSAS COUNTY Embattled Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams was issued a public warning (SEE THE WARNING)Thursday by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, meaning he will not be removed from the bench.
Adams, a family law judge whose case load includes child abuse cases, came under fire in November after his daughter uploaded a video showing the judge beating her with a belt when she was 16, triggering a firestorm of public controversy.
Adams could not be reached for comment on the sanction.
A public warning is near the top of a spectrum of possible disciplinary actions the commission could have issued. Punishments range from private admonitions to a recommendation that a judge be removed from the bench, which is exceedingly rare.

The judge remains on the bench with a proverbial slap on the wrist. I hope that he had time to reflect on his actions while he was on paid administrative leave.
