The tweet on the street: Where the billboard truck with Trump's anti-Ted Cruz message has appeared
AUSTIN Last month, a Texas activist, with the help of former Parkland student David Hogg, raised thousands of dollars for a billboard on wheels displaying one of President Donald Trump's tweets bashing Sen. Ted Cruz.
The idea came after Trump announced he would visit Texas to campaign for Cruz's re-election to U.S. Senate. Houston-based community organizer Antonio Arellano, Hogg and political operative Claude Taylor raised nearly $10,000 through a GoFundMe account.
The tweet is from Feb. 28, 2016, when Trump wrote, "Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them. He is another all talk, no action pol!"
Cruz is in a competitive race for his seat with Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-El Paso.
Arellano said on the GoFundMe page that the intent of the billboard is to "to remind Texans of the truth."
