Southlake mayor tells parents to 'wake the heck up' after another video of teens using N-word

Southlake officials have condemned a video depicting at least one Carroll ISD student in a group of teens using the N-word, months after students were captured in another video using the same racial slur.

The school district wrote on its Facebook page that it was notified Tuesday night of the video showing three teens in a car, where the N-word can be heard repeatedly. The district told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that one teen seen in the video as well as an off-camera driver have been identified as Southlake students.

In October, Carroll ISD officials said they were "extremely disappointed" in a video of at least nine white students huddled in a group chanting the N-word. It's unclear whether any students who appeared in the first video also appeared in the second.

The district said in a written statement Wednesday that "racism is not welcome in Carroll ISD or Southlake."
