CEO of Virginia security firm busted trying to board plane at Kennedy Airport with loaded gun

The CEO of a Virginia security firm {VxL Enterprises LLC,} tried to board a plane at Kennedy Airport with a loaded gun in his carry-on bag, Port Authority police said.

Matthew Crouse, 42, of Alexandria, was busted on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Screening officers found the gun — a Glock 19 pistol loaded with 15 rounds — when Crouse's bag passed through an X-ray scanner, said Port Authority spokesman Joseph Pentangelo.

"It's my bag. I forgot the gun was in there. I made a mistake," Crouse told police, according to prosecutors. "In Virginia, you don't need a license unless you concealed-carry."
