And now, your First Amendment Activity weather forecast:

Severe thunderstorms northeast of C'ville. Might be headed in the direction of DC. Too soon to tell.

My brother used to live in Rapidan, so I've been all over where this happened.

I got tired of cleaning house, so I walked down to the library this afternoon. I suppose I'll get wet on the way back home.

I hope the bad weather sends the people inclined to violence home.

Several trees down as severe thunderstorms blew over areas northeast of Charlottesville this afternoon. Hardest hit region is Culpeper County.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms continue to develop and drift ESE. Isolated damaging wind, hail, and flooding possible! Frequent lightning as well.

Starting to sprinkle at the White House area.

4:12 pm: Heavy shower over parts of DC and surrounding VA is mainly just south of the Mall but this activity could expand north too.

4:09 pm: Steady rain moving across the western Beltway area. Headed into the city over the next hour. Additional showers and storms are also developing near and east of 95.

@capitalweather complete stoppage of traffic on 15/29 north of Culpepper due to downed trees, micro burst?

{Please: Culpeper.}

Not much rain, but give it a minute or two.

I had so many potatoes sitting around the house that I made some potato salad yesterday night. Well, I started on the potato salad. I peeled, cut up, and boiled the potatoes and two eggs. I have a jar of Duke's mayonnaise I bought yesterday in the refrigerator, and I'll stir that and some pickles into the mixture. I'll be wet when I get home, but I'll make up for it with some delicious potato salad.

Nothing says summer like thunderstorms and potato salad.

About two hours ago demonstrators and police were squared off at 4th and Water Streets. A good downpour cooled everyone off. Both sides backed down and sanity prevailed.
