My vision for the 7th District (from Abigail Spanberger)
Good evening, my friends!
Tonight at the VA07 Debate in Culpeper, I had the unique opportunity to share my vision for a stronger, more prosperous District and Commonwealth. Before a large, energetic crowd at Germanna Community College, and an audience watching on screens across Central Virginia, I spoke about my common-sense positions on healthcare, the economy, education, the workforce, and public safety, issues of central importance to the residents of the 7th District.
I was honored to discuss the need for accessible, responsible leadership with people watching all across the state. Tonight, viewers saw and heard two very different visions for the 7th District: my vision for a unified district focused on common-sense policies that provide our citizens with the opportunity to thrive, and one focused on divisive rhetoric and even more divisive policies. I was excited to share my optimistic vision tonight, and its the one I plan to take to Congress.
Unfortunately, Congressman Brat couldnt help himself during tonights debate when he repeated many of the same inaccurate statements and misleading accusations regarding my record and positions. That is why my campaign released a list this morning which included Brats incorrect claims, my actual positions, and in-depth citations.
Nevertheless, I believe our message resonated with people all across the District; with the single-parent household fighting to make ends meet; with the recent college graduate struggling under the weight of student-loan debt; with the senior desperately trying to afford prescription drugs; with the families and individuals eager to live in a district that is more equitable, more competitive, and more prosperous.
Thank you for your support leading up to this debate and for your help in making this grassroots campaign the incredible force for positive change that it has become. I look forward to serving the people of the 7th District when Im elected to Congress.
Thank you,
Abigail Spanberger
