I've just heard on King5news that the opponents have conceded!
Marriage Equality in Washington is now the LAW!

Of course, we already knew that we were winning, so this acknowledgment by the NOM isn't actually the victory...Washington voters already had given us that. But oh how I love to see the Nommers cry!

(51,907 posts)Pretty much what happened in MA--massive opposition failed to overturn marriage equality. Later on, people jsut went back to caring more about jobs and health care.

(8,554 posts)Same-sex couples will be allowed to apply for marriage licenses on Thursday, December 6, 2012, which is when the election will have been certified.
Washington law requires all couples to wait three days after applying for their marriage license before having their marriage ceremony. So if a couple receives their marriage license on December 6, they will have to wait until December 9 to get married.
