Police kill black bear seen roaming around Lacey neighborhood

LACEY, Wash. – A 200-pound black bear spotted roaming neighborhoods in Lacey Saturday morning was killed by police.

Lacey Police say they received multiple reports of the black bear in the area of St. Andrews St SE around 7:30 a.m.

The bear, which is estimated to weigh over 200 pounds, was seen running in alleyways, in between houses, and along the street police say.

Officers say with no other “reasonable alternative” they had to kill the bear to protect people who were outside including several families at Rainier Vista Park

The police killed it. Obviously they didn't call the wildlife department before they decide to kill it. What a bunch of losers.
