Slight Chance For Rain Friday, With Cooler Temps For Puget Sound
SEATTLE Areas of Puget Sound could briefly reunite with a long-lost friend Friday afternoon, with the latest forecasts showing a slight chance for drizzle after weeks without rainfall. The National Weather Service is not expecting much less than a tenth of an inch and it may not happen at all, but more cloud cover and slightly cooler temperatures are a good bet across the region.
For the Seattle area, the forecast shows the best shot for some raindrops between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. With more clouds and an onshore flow continuing, Friday is also expected to be the coolest day of the week, and afternoon highs may land right around 70 degrees.
Forecasters expect Saturday and Sunday will be clearer and warmer, with temperatures returning to the mid-70s, before heading a couple of degrees higher Monday and lasting into mid-week. Even if a little rain makes an appearance Friday, forecasters note prolonged dry conditions will continue to present fire dangers, and significant rainfall remains out of reach.
Here is the 5-day weather outlook for the Seattle area:
Friday: 70°/56° (Areas of drizzle)
Saturday: 74°/55° (Decreasing clouds)
Sunday: 77°/56° (Sunny)
Monday: 78°/57° (Sunny)
Tuesday: 77°/56° (Sunny)
