Six SPD employees fail to meet vaccine mandate, request exemption

SEATTLE – Six police department employees are undergoing the “separation process” after failing to get vaccinated.

The Seattle Police Department said those six are the only ones who did not submit their COVID-19 vaccine forms and are not involved in an accommodation process.

SPD said those will have to go through a legal process, which includes a mandatory Loudermill hearing.

There are also 103 sworn and civilian employees who requested either medical or religious exemption. They will not be working and must use their own accrued time off for pay.
