Bitter cold, snow on its way out as temps rise across region in coming days

Jan. 1—The days of bitter cold are almost behind us.

Saturday is the last day in a stretch of cold weather with low temperatures in the teens and 20s, according to the National Weather Service.

Next week, things will be warming up.

Temperatures will have highs reaching the lower to mid 40s and morning lows in the low to mid 30s through next week.
