Edmonds beaches and piers closed after tsunami advisory issued Saturday

All beaches and piers will be closed in Edmonds until further notice after a tsunami advisory was issued for the Washington coast Saturday, according to Edmonds Police Department.

No destructive waves are expected in the area, but waters could rise between one and three feet.

At Edmonds Marina, boat owners who live aboard their vessels are advised to leave.

Tsunami sirens will not be engaged as the tsunami will be under three feet, but Smart911 and reverse 911 calls will be made to landlines and registered cell phones in the area.
