Burglary of $90K worth of equipment knocks Grays Harbor fire station out of service

A burglary of tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment has caused a fire station to temporarily shut down.

On Tuesday at about 6 a.m., deputies were called to Grays Harbor County Fire District 1/Station 2 at 1880 South Bank Road in Oakville for an overnight burglary.

The fire station has a tender, fire engine and an ambulance. All three were prowled and many items were stolen from them including defibrillators, jaws of life, chain saws, radios, rescue tools, and many other pieces of lifesaving equipment.

-snip-

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying those involved in the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to call the Grays Harbor County Dispatch Center at 360-533-8765.

Is there a market for it, or are they trying to destroy the departments ability to respond?
