A few idiots protested today at the Lenin statue in Fremont

Led by Jack Posobiec, tRump supporter and 'PizzaGate' conspiracy theorist, and all-around asshole (do a Google search for his name - he's been in the news a lot, recently).

He asked one local woman if a statue of Hitler would be OK. She started to answer, but he jumped right in and talked over her - she started to say that it would be OK, if it was treated in the same kitschy way that the Lenin statue is. He cut her off at the 'OK' part, then went into a rant about how these people would be OK with a statue honoring Hitler.

These people just don't get it; the Lenin statue (which stands on private property) is not a revered icon or anything. It's treated as a very kitschy piece of public art by the community. It gets a star on the head or a little tree and strings of lights for Christmas/Solstice, usually a huge glittery feather boa and some type of sparkly hat during June for the Pride marches, and it has had a switch attached to his finger with the necessary circuitry so that when you pulled the finger it made fart noises. Hardly the type of idol-worship that he tried to pass off on his feed.

I *might* agree to let them keep some of the Confederate statues where they are - but only if they promise not to raise a stink if someone attached rainbow flags once in a while, and maybe added a glittery feather boa. Maybe someone could every so often switch out the rainbow flag for a white flag - the only Confederate flag that really counted. Add a glittery rainbow unicorn horn to the horse. Maybe a 'My Little Pony' tail.

(Someone suggested replacing it with a statue of tRump. But I bet they'd get *really* pissed off if that one got the usual treatment that local statues get!)

If their statues were treated the way the Lenin statue is treated, they would either have armed guards around them, or they would be demanding that they be removed to protected places - like museums - rather than being publicly ridiculed.

But I was thinking of a fascist going down as the theme. Something like the hammer man at Seattle Art Museum or drinking man at Blue Moon Tavern. Mechanized and persistently going down. I heard the 5 foot lawn bear down the street is free for the haul away, maybe it could be incorporated into a fascist fellating a bear tableau.
