Report details openings for more than 100K jobs in Seattle

Now is the time to find a job in Seattle, according to the recent Glassdoor job market report.

The online employment website scoured millions of job postings around the country to determine industry growth and job availability. The Puget Sound region has more than 100,000 open positions, with the most openings in health care (more than 15,000) and tech (more than 12,000).

"Job openings are like a crystal ball into employer expectations of the U.S. economy," Daniel Zhao, a Glassdoor economist and data scientist, wrote in the report. "Employers can open or close job postings instantly in response to fast-changing economic trends or world events. However, it can take weeks or even months to hire or lay off workers in response to changes in the economy or other news."

In addition to compiling statistics regarding job openings, Glassdoor examined job availability by more than 30 industries and how that compares to April 2018.

1. I don't put a lot of stock in Glassdoor.

Our office closed in December and 8 people were laid off. I still keep in contact with them and no one has anything good to say about Glassdoor. They're having better luck with ZipRecruiter and Monster.
