Washington ranked 4th most fun state. But what does that mean?

"Fun" can be subjective, but a recent study ranked all 50 states based on which were the most fun to visit.

And Washington did pretty well, better than 46 other states to be specific. But how can you calculate "fun?"

Well, WalletHub tried. The personal finance site calculated how much fun each state was to visit in a study by deriving a score from two categories: the state's "entertainment and recreation" rank, and its "nightlife" rank.

The categories were broken down into 26 differently weighted metrics including the number of attractions, ideal weather, movie theaters per capita, access to national parks and others.
