Wisconsin: "We don't need no stinking hearings." Scott Fitzgerald fast-tracks the mining bill.

http://uppitywis.org/we-dont-need-no-stinkin-hearings

Today Scott Fitzgerald dissolved the mining committee, and has sent the Assembly version of the open pit mining bill (AB 426) directly to the Joint Finance Committee, so that the Senate can vote on it as soon as possible. Also as a result of this, the Friday hearing on the bill in Platteville has been cancelled.

Apparently there's no room at all for deliberation or discussion of anything in the Legislature these days. This follows last night's midnight session in which the new wetland bill was passed, because apparently waiting until 9 AM was too darn slow. It's crucially important that if you have any opinions on this bill that you make them clear to your legislators right now.

...must be pretty confident that he's going to survive a recall election in order to pull a stunt like this....his 8+ minute temper tantrum from the other day would ordinarily be enough to put any politician out of office but this is blatantly shameful....
