(62,904 posts)When they said "export" I literally did a spit take. Fucking idiots.
We got old Chucky the Grassman writing letters to the propane industry about prices.
I had to write him (ok some low level schmuck) and asked what happened to his devotion to "free markets?"
Chucky's also calling for LIHEAP to help folks pay their heat bills. The same guy who voted to cut it in half.

(8,655 posts)This is the last year I am reliant on one heat source. Ever.
Stood in the aisle at the local home improvement store yesterday looking at alternatives. While we were there, five other people came through looking at the same thing.
We left behind fuel oil for the same reason 14 years ago. We'll leave behind LP now.
Electric now. Solar this summer. Fuck them all next winter.
I just wish everyone was able to do this. We're lucky. So many people are suffering out there without heat or hot water thanks to these bozos.
The only hope I have is that it gets some of these free-market, anti-regulation petroleum cronies unelected in 2014 and 2016.

(9,137 posts)Apparently... a quick hard winter and the combination of late spring planting causing for a late fall harvest and a highly successful corn crop caused the shortage (gotta love WPR). The corn has to be dried. They use propane to dry much of it and it takes a butt load to do it. They got caught with their pants down no doubt about it.

(5,075 posts)people on their gas bills. That's a Big Gobernment thing.
He would rather poor people just got a job, or built a fire, or lit their farts. They are all just takers after all.
But there is no way he is going to stand up to the energy money and expose their racket. He knows who he is supposed to kiss (and what part too).
