And while we're dragging our feet on alternative energy sources, the state is about to welcome a new pipeline that will run from Superior to the Illinois border and carry more tar sands oil from Canada than even the Keystone XL pipeline, which has generated a national furor.
While all this threatens to make Wisconsin even more dependent on carbon-laden fossil fuels, Gov. Scott Walker wants the new attorney general, Brad Schimel, to join the lawsuit to stop the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed standards to limit carbon pollution from existing power plants.
In other words, the governor is not only not lifting a finger to deal with carbon emissions, but is doing everything possible to make them worse.

You don't vote for a guy 3 times and not agree with his policies. Very surprising for a northern state but there you have it.

(53,475 posts)3. Maybe the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will finally figure out that it takes more ...
... than running a Republican-lite candidate to beat a Republican.
I'm really glad State Party Chair Mike Tate resigned. It's been hard to tell if he's working for the other side or just incredibly incompetent.
