Does it surprise anyone here that Walker hasn't pushed death penalty legislation yet?

He's checked all of the other boxes. I honestly thought we'd see a push to enact the death penalty during his first term. It's curious they have been silent on this favorite piece of red meat for the base.

there have been a few more arrests in the last few days - related to the hearings, of course.

They just don't call it the death penalty. He has policies that can put people out on the streets, the life expectancy for homeless people is very low, around the age of 50. He advocates no insurance for the most vulnerable of people. He has policies that will lower wages for just about everyone except you know who. He calls protesters terrorists and that would mean militarizing the police even more if he has his way and that leads to more dead POC and poor people of any color. Almost all conservative policies are advocating death for anyone who isn't in the 1% or carrying water for them.

That is a good point. The return of the death penalty was one of the first things Tim Pawlenty pursued in his first term. It was shocking; he was obviously playing to a wider audience -- not the citizens of Minnesota! But Pawlenty had the ugly rape and murder of a sweet, blonde coed by a Mexican immigrant to use to justify calling for the death penalty. Nevertheless, his efforts failed. Perhaps Walker is waiting for a heinous crime in Wisconsin to give him an opportunity?

I am afraid that the mentioning of it on forums like these will somehow put it on their radar, and it will be the next thing they vote on. Clearly death, destruction and poverty are things that christian republicans adore and worship.
