Good read about Walkers failed power-grab.
https://urbanmilwaukee.com/2018/04/04/data-wonk-walkers-plan-to-break-the-law/
“The proposed bill would have made several changes to Wisconsin law on special elections to fill state senate or assembly seats “If successful, Walker’s proposal would have offered new and interesting strategies for future governors intent on molding the legislature to their liking. Presumably, the calling of a special election would become discretionary. With no legal requirement to promptly call a special election a governor could promptly call special elections to fill vacancies in districts likely to be won by his or her own party, while ignoring vacancies in districts favoring the other party.”

1. very interesting
I had no idea he didn't want the elections held in safe GOP districts, that speaks volumes
their polling must be setting off alarm bells |

3. After Democrats won a supposedly safe Republican seat in a special election in January
He canceled all future special elections this year. Then about a month ago, Eric Holder sued him for it and won, forcing him to hold special elections in a month or so.

5. We need a strong candidate
and not someone whose only elected experience is having served on a school board.

7. So who do you like?
I’ll go out on a limb and start.
I like Paul Soglin. I’ve known him my whole political life. I voted for him in his first mayoral race. He was the youngest Madison mayor ever. His politics are clear and he’s liberal. He’s so well known, I’m sure the Republican smear campaign is already planned. |

in the general.
