Judge who halted union law may run for Supreme Court

http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/judge-who-halted-union-law-may-run-for-supreme-court-3t7ilsn-177928361.html

Madison - A Dane County judge who drew fire from conservatives for a ruling last year halting implementation of Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law is considering running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court next year.

Judge Maryann Sumi told the weekly newspaper Isthmus that she is working with a nonpartisan group of people helping her explore the possibility of a run against conservative Justice Patience Roggensack.

Roggensack sided with conservatives on the court in overturning Sumi's ruling last year.

Messages left Thursday with both Sumi and Roggensack were not immediately returned.

Sumi was appointed to the bench in 1998 by Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson.

That we started our Friday night "Leftist Cocktail Parties" last year!

By the way, little Blake Gober, the originator of the idea , has gone off to Washington, to work for the Republicans. His dream was to work for Paul Ryan. He told me one time that he worshipped the ground that Ryan walks on. Wonder how that's feeling right about now?

This will be interesting. Remember his videos?

Noted lemon law attorney Vince Megna, who in recent months has posted numerous satirical videos online lampooning Gov. Scott Walker and other Republicans, told The Associated Press on Friday that he is running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Megna, known nationally for his successful record of bringing lawsuits on behalf of car owners against automobile companies, dealerships and others, said his candidacy is no joke.

"I've only been considering this for 24 hours, but I am absolutely serious," Megna told the AP. "I've never ran for anything and if there was anything I would ever run for, this is the only thing."
