He seems to be a darling of the right-wing Tories.

I once heard the joke:
If Cinderella, Harry Potter, a good Education Secretary and a bad Education Secretary ran a race, who would win?
Answer: The bad Education Secretary. All the others are fairy tale characters.

But Gove is worse than most! Especially as it's really a two-headed monster: Gove 'n Gibb.
