Club Curling | King’s Cross



If you’re a bit rusty on the old curling, you can brush up here: Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross is hosting a trio of pop up curling lanes for the festive period. You’ll get 45 mins on the (fake) ice, and there’ll be a pop up bar serving signature cocktails, too.

1. Thanks - that's nice!

I have lived and/or worked in London for the past 17 years. Winter is always a strange time. It hardly gets cold and seldom snows.

Some of winter pop-ups are regulars, but these new bits are quite cool.

It was always a pleasure to of out for a walk on New Years or Christmas Day - there was hardly a soul around. Beautifully quiet.

Sadly, this year we've stayed well away - for good reasons!

2. I was last in London in September

It was noticeable that Londoners were far more conscientious about taking precautions such as mask wearing than you find in other parts of the country. In fact I returned from my London trip finding it more irksome then ever how lackadaisical people in places like Rotherham and Barnsley are about the risks of Coronavirus!

The other noticeable thing from that trip was how badly affected the London tourist trade has been by a combination of factors such as global pandemic, dreadful Br*x*t regulations and Priti Patel's "hostile environment" policies all driving away business.

3. You friend are of the same ilk.

We are in moreton-in-marsh.

Even here we see poor mask usage, ignorance of physical distancing, and general poor hygiene whilst in a pandemic.

The U.K. isn’t heading for herd immunity, we are headed for endemic herd casualties.

I’m staying in my back garden for as long as feasibly possible.

And don’t even get us going regarding Priti’s latest tone deaf policy spitball.

4. I was in Lincoln last weekend

And precautions such as mask wearing there seem to have generally fallen by the wayside.

Interestingly enough, the main thing anyone seems to talk about in Lincoln is their Christmas Market!
