I hope everyone is staying safe and hasn't had too much disruption with the storms.

We've been OK in town, but some of the outlying rural areas had a lot of disruption, loss of power, etc. over Christmas especially.

1. I was just looking at storm photos from Wales

Wow. I've never seen such terrifying waves.

I can identify with the Christmas power outages - I spent my Christmas Day curled up under a feather comforter, dashing out only when the generator needed more fuel or the fireplace needed more wood. Power went out on Sunday morning, came back on the following Friday afternoon. I spent 5 days in the same clothes because, well, what was the point in changing, just to have more clothes smell like smoke and gasoline.

And, the first thing I did when I had confirmed everything in the house was functioning - I ran out for a big Fish and Chips take-away.

2. I'm in Cornwall but above the 100m contour

and about 2 miles from the sea. Near me Perranporth and Portreath have suffered.
