2020 CO US Senate Democratic Nomination- Andrew Romanoff-D?

Andrew Romanoff-D is the first major top tier Democratic candidate for the 2020 CO US Senate Election to file his candidacy with the FEC. There are pros and cons for Andrew Romanoff-D becoming the Democratic Nominee for the 2020 CO US Senate Election.
Pros- Romanoff-D served 8 years in the CO state House of Representatives including 3 years as House Speaker. Romanoff-D ran for the US Senate in 2010 and received 46 percent of the popular vote in the Democratic Primary against incumbent Michael Bennet-D. Romanoff-D is currently the President of Mental Health Association of Colorado- a non profit organization.
Con- Romanoff-D lost the 2014 US House Race in CO-6 to Republican incumbent Michael Coffman-R by a 8 to 9 percent margin. CO-6 is a Democratic leaning swing district but 2014 was a Republican wave election year.
In the 2020 CO US Senate Race against Gardner-R, Does Romanoff-D need to win the popular vote in CO-6 in order to win the popular vote statewide?
