Evan Bayh for President? Seriously?

I thought Evan Bayh was done with politics after he gave up on keeping his Senate seat in 10', but evidently he still has national ambitions. Not only did I see a (now-deleted) Politico story mentioning him as a possible candidate, but now there's an e-book on 2016 which does a whole profile on him as a 'contender' (to be fair, it does make it clear that he barely stands a chance).

Seriously, why would any primary voter cast their ballot for Bayh? His actions in Congress weren't exactly endearing and the stuff he's done since is totally counterintuitive to anyone planning a run for the Democratic nomination. If you join a D.C. law/lobbying firm (already a pretty unethical thing) you should be paid enough to stay off Fox News, rather than taking Roger Ailes' dirty money to be one of his token Democrats. And that whole thing about the Wall Street Journal op-ed criticizing Health Reform for the medical devices tax (link)? That's pretty bad on the face of it, but it gets worse when you find out that his new firm is lobbying on behalf of those opposing the devices tax (link).

Why would you bother to run?

I have lived in Indiana since 1986. He is not a worthwhile Democrat. He would not had been elected if it wasn't for his father Birch Bayh who was a real Democrat and had accomplishments. Birch was responsible for the 25th and 26th amendments. The first for presidential succession and the 2nd for lowering the voting age to 18.

Evan on the other hand doesn't have a spine. His wife Susan is also on numerous boards that are not in the best interest of the voters. It was Birch Bayh's name and record that allowed Evan to get elected.
