Is US Representative Dean Phillips of MN-3 going to run for statewide office in the near future?

Dean Phillips won all 3 of his US House races in MN-3 by a double digit/landslide margin.
He won in 2018 and 2020 by a 11 percent margin. In 2018 and 2020, MN-3 was a D+1 district.
He won in 2022 by a 19 percent margin. In 2022, MN-3 was a D+8 district.
Phillips is a moderate Democrat and is wealthy. Dean Phillips should run for Governor in 2026 due to the fact Tim Walz unlikely to seek re-election to a 3rd term. If Dean Phillips runs for Governor of MN in 2026, He should select his fellow MN US House Member Ilhan Omar as his Lt Gubernatorial runningmate. Phillips is popular in the Twin Cities Suburbs and he will energize turnout in the inner cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. Picking Omar as Lt Governor can help Phillips in the primary against Keith Ellison.

I haven't heard anything about Walz not seeking a 3rd Term. TheRealNorth Jun 2023 #1
The only MN Governor that ran for a 3rd term but did not succeed was Rudy Perpich(1990). nkpolitics1212 Jun 2023 #2

I would rather have Philips hold down the 3rd district.

This was after 1960 when MN Governors term as a 4 year term.
Arne Carlson served 2 terms(1991-1999)
Tim Pawlenty served 2 terms(2003-2011) Jesse the Body Ventura served 1 term from(1999-2003.)
Mark Dayton served 2 terms(2011-2019)
Tim Walz is likely to serve 2 terms(2019-2027).

The candidates that are likely to succeed Walz are Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan, Secretary of State Steve Simon, and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Tim Walz decides not to seek re-election to a 3rd term for Governor of MN in 2026. His Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan replaces him. Flanagan will be the 1st female Governor of Minnesota.
