Windows activation, what a PITA.

Had to replace hard drive with failing boot sector on a computer. wouldn't activate automatically, wouldn't activate with automated phone system. Had to call M$ support and finally, after talking to 3 different people and explaining what the situation was and that I was looking at the product key sticker right in front of me, got an authentication code to enter.
