Will this notice from Microsoft mess me up?

I keep getting a message from MS every few days: Blue screen. I hit "remind me in a few days".

"Lets finish setting up your device".

Since I hardly know what I am doing, I'm afraid this message will require me to do things with which I am not familiar. Is this a simple notification or will I mess up the works and have to call my computer guy again. There is no option to click on one of the "settings" to tell us what this "finish" will do.
Have you done it and and repercussions?

This old timer needs help if you can.
Thanks, PR

2. I am an avid user of Windows. I see messages like this often.

I tinker with the system more than the average user.

Sometimes, a "device" is not some external thing plugged into the computer, but refers to some subsystem on the motherboard (e.g., the sound chips, internal USB hub, etc.).

I think if you go through the motions to let the computer set this up, the only difference you will notice is that the message will go away.

I say go for it! It's what I'd do. It's what I've done every time.

Good luck.

Second, if you are getting this error while setting up the second or third account on your computer, you need to disable the Welcome Experience.

5. What do you mean you keep getting a message from MS(microsoft?)

Is it an email. text. pop ups on your screen. ? You literally look at your monitor and see a blue screen with Let's finish setting up your device? Do you have any security set up? Avast, Norton or the like?

How does the computer function after you press remind me in a few days?

Have you checked device manager? What windows are you using? 10? Is this a new computer or recently loaded operating system?

I am FAR from a computer expert but I would hesitate to give any advice w/o knowing anything about the situation.

A simple thing to do is select -start -settings -windows update. Then follow the prompts unless you get this prompt you're questioning.

Have done a shutdown and restart? Shutdown not turn off.

have a gander at this:

Thanks for your info. I don't need any more Microsoft services nor do I want to give them any more information. I'll bookmark for another time when I have more courage.

the video link will, I think if I understand your situation, provide a way to not give more information as well as close that message. It's only two minutes so whenever you're ready, go for it!
