The infrastructure needed to provide our current national internet connectivity is massive. To upgrade it is extremely expensive. While I dont htink any of the big telcoms are really hurting I will say they pay through the nose.

but not too far from a major hwy. Finally got DSL after suffering thru dial up and then satellite that really wasn't very good.

I know there are much faster services but I am thrilled with the DSL. When we lived down near Milw we had cable of course but up here it's a whole different story.
