All the years Apple sold a rack-mount server (Xserve) they never showed them off in the retail stores. With an entry price of $6000 for these new guys, they don't exactly lend themselves to impulse buys.

Fyi, they're quoting 1-2 weeks delivery, and no in-store pickup

Omg, just maxing out some of the options gets the price up over $50k.

Pretty shocking that they're still pushing the old cans, unless they're at a serious discount!

Thanks for the reply. The $5000 iMac Pro showed up in retail stores last year, and that's only $1000 less than a new bare-bones Mac Pro. I would guess that that the new Mac Pro is not a stocking stuffer, not even seasonal, so it can't compete for shelf space a few days before Christmas. Or maybe it doesn't exist yet. I'll look for it again in January.

It’s not a consumer product, especially during the holidays. Retail space is better put to use hawking phones and tablets.
