need a generic driver for an old printer. thanks lion.

thanks again lion, for the many useful things which no longer work for me.
after a huge battle to get a beloved old tektronix laser printer back in business turns out xerox is not bothering to update quite a few drivers.
it is running with a generic driver that my macbook found somewhere. but i do not really have access to things like paper sizes. the conflicts are making me nuts.
so, anyone have any suggestions? i am thinking of stripping my old macbook and making it snow leopard. i lost a lot of stuff moving to lion.

They don't run on Lion. Period.

Will the generic Postscript driver work?

i can't reach all the features, like paper drawers.
it is an old phaser 780, which is not among those listed. i am thinking a call to tech service might find another model that would work.
or i could eat a few shot glasses.

. . . . . HP was famous for that. Hopefully Xerox did the same sort of thing.

Bon chance!

Ugh.

What does a mousey device have to do with PowerPC vs. Intel machine?? I don't get it.

So in the short term, I've reverted to using the Bluetooth Magic Mouse, which I like the 70 percent of the time it's actually working...
