Just curious, what's your objection to Safari? I've got Chrome and Firefox
installed for testing, but just wind up using Safari 99% of the time.

Hmm, I also happen to have Pi-Hole running, so most of the sites load
a lot faster without ads. Maybe Safari sucks at ads, idk

But I have been using safari (on mobile devices by default ... all other browsers are really safari inside (webkit).

On the desktops, I have used Firefox a whole lot, mainly for the ad-blocking and paywall-bypass extensions (and lots more), but in my experience, when I go to print a page to PDF, way too many times, Firefox just locks up and I have to kill it.

So I have been using Opera a lot. Has built-in VPN of sorts, ad-blocking (I add others for fun) and seems to preview and save pdf from pages faster. And I don't miss the constant Firefox nags to update it. (I really fear that it will add obnoxious things I have to undo. though I suspect that Opera snuk some promoted sites into my start page. Opera is built on the crome engine, so chrome add-ins work.

One thing that really amazes me is that Opera has no built-in means to email a link. I have to use an extension to do so. Go figure.

When it really matters, tor browser, though that has Firefox inside, hence the nags.

ALL of these work with DU. In my experience with really old apps and browsers (like on old ipods I use only to stream music from the hotspot into the audio system or bluetooth ) many fail after a while and can't be updated. Something about expired certificates in browsing some websites. Dunno about the apps.

I got briefly banned from imgbb until I realized that I was probably routing through some East European node. Got to check everything! (like who has the time?)

The Sea Monkey application is out-of-date and will most likely never be updated to function with your 2014 Mac laptop. Also, your Mac laptop will likely face extinction from Apple in the very near future.

Backup all of your personal files to an external hard drive. Then activate a few of those files to be sure your backup is operational

(1) Consider replacing your existing battery with a new battery

(2) Consider upgrading your RAM (if possible) (from Crucial)

(3) Consider upgrading your HDD to a new 256GB SSD (from Crucial)

(4) Consider upgrading your OS to a newer OS (from Apple)
