President Obama leaving for Camp David today.

Because, finally, it is the soul that must be preserved, if one is to remain a credible leader. All else might be lost; but when the soul dies, the connection to earth, to peoples, to animals, to rivers, to mountain ranges, purple and majestic, also dies. And your smile, with which we watch you do gracious battle with unjust characterizations, distortions and lies, is that expression of healthy self-worth, spirit and soul, that, kept happy and free and relaxed, can find an answering smile in all of us, lighting our way, and brightening the world.

Awesome pic! Love it when he has those sunglasses on. Oh, I'm sure going to miss him. Can't even think about it.

I had a thought the other day, if President Obama lives as long as President Carter has, he would turn 90 years old in 2051.
Imagine that, still being around at the middle of the century, some 36 years from now.
He'll outlive almost all of his critics.

I'll bet that is what makes him smile sometimes.

Yet, my eldest great nephew. I taught him about Obama. They voted in first grade. Obama won!

Gotta love the children, Major.

It is for the children. It always will be.

Obama has surpassed all of my expectations by getting most of his policies enacted already.
With precious damn little help from the Republican party.
He has tried to do more than I ever even thought he would try to do, on so many different levels.

I think that in time, say 5 years after he is out of office, even more people will come to respect his worldviews more.
He's an American, to be sure, but he is also working to help to raise the levels of those living in other countries, too.
I think that is why he is so respected in other countries, he is totally opposite of George W. Bush who seemed so distant and uncaring to them.
Instead of creating chaos and starting wars, Obama is helping to bring stability to those countries and stopping wars.

Thanks as ever for sharing the photo of this amazing human being. Alice Walker's message to him defines the essence of his soul, and as I listen to Kenio Fuke's Relaxing Melodies of Nature, the perfect background for Alice's words, I am simply blown away--my spirit is touched, and my soul engulfed by a sense of peace. Thank whatever gods may be for our President, for all he brings us, and thank you, sheshe, for never failing to share him with us here on the BOG.

Love and peace to you, and lotsa hugs back!
