1. I just read that OP by Segami

Then I went back through and read the rest of the responses.

I don't know if the author he linked to is still at DU - but the man who wrote that was also the "POS Used Car" writer at DU.

Now I see he had some sort of health crisis going when he wrote the Used Car Salesman post -

But I have issues (I have an auto immune disease that is very aggressive) all of the time - and have never felt the need to take it out on the President. Not even when I was spending close to $1100 a month on Enbrel did I take it out on him . . .

9. His wife has a progressive and debilitating disease. She had it when they got married. Unfortunately

... the author already had made a career of being mad at everything Obama had ever done or tried to do. On the occasion of the "POS used car salesman" rant the author (I got in trouble one time for referring to him by his initials in a subject line) tipped over into permanent spittle flecked rage territory. Whatever his former merits as a warrior against BushCheney, he's now just another online blogger with a permanent grudge, imo.

Also unfortunately for any remaining sympathy I had for him and his wife, he by his own admission failed to do any kind of due diligence whatsoever regarding what kind of coverage would be offered in the state he moved to (I think he went from Boston to New Hampshire) and what kind of medications would be covered in the health care plan he signed up for.

And somehow this was all Obama's fault.

I also have chronic conditions. My husband and I work with our doctor and the insurance company to make sure I get what I need. We have to do this every year. It just is what it is.

It's not Obama's fault.

when someone posted (mistakenly) that Andy Stephenson wasn't as sick as thought and posted about it -- demanding an explanation from Andy -- without first consulting Andy.

4. Well, I for one hope "Trojan Horse" is not the new DU meme for our President.

Although, reading the OP and responses does give me pause. Let me just say, I'm thankful that Barack Obama is our president, and very thankful for the BOG. And yes, I know about TPP, public option, etc., etc., and yet I still support him and am proud of all he's done for our country. I do not apologize for my support, and while I didn't bother to read Will Pitt's article (had enough of him long ago), I must say, I'm having a bit of a problem figuring out the Trojan Horse analogy. Wasn't that the one that ended the war between the Greeks and Trojans? Or perhaps it's the computer virus? Guess maybe I shoulda read Will's article, but pretty sure that would be a waste of time. Terrible meme, whatever the context. Again, I'm thankful for the BOG, and that handy-dandy ignore button.

Just as an aside--today's the 35th anniversary of the Mt. St. Helens eruption. Lived near there at the time, and it was quite a memorable occasion. Still have a bottle of ash I recovered from my front yard following the big blow. Okay, back to listening to Thom Hartmann!

Cheers and thumbs up!

To them, the president has done nothing of value or consequence. They deny reality on a daily basis.

I think he just found out that Ben Affleck has an ancestor who was a slave owner, and that Ben tried to hide that fact from coming out.
Not like it reflects on Ben Affleck in any way at all.

But, Ben is from Boston, and so there is that connection.
I don't really care that Ben has an ancestor who owned slaves; that was not what made Ben famous today.

Unfortunately there is just enough racist spice in that stew that gets some of the others hungry for more.

8. The good news is it's an old CT meme, the bad news is that's it's utterly offensive

even in its milder recensions which this seems to be a version of, where President Obama throws the match to the GOP by prearrangement with his deep-state handlers, in most versions commanded by Dick Cheney or GHWB. In its more extreme versions he's a victim of mind control at Hawaiin military bases going back to his boyhood, his mother is CIA, etc etc. Pretty nasty stuff all around even for the Infowars crowd.

Those who know what the President has done for our country since he's been in Office think it's a stale CT that the rw have already tried and failed to fling.
