Iowa man arrested after having meth shipped to him via UPS

Now here comes Iowa Man to challenge Florida Man!

A Dubuque man faces felony charges after police said he had two pounds of meth shipped to his home from Arizona.

Derek R. Rath, 34, of 105 E. 26th St., was arrested at 6 p.m. Wednesday at his residence on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officials at a Dubuque UPS location contacted the Dubuque Drug Task Force at 9 a.m. Wednesday with a report of a suspicious package, according to court documents. The package was shipped to Rath overnight from an Arizona address.

Per company policy, employees opened the suspicious package to examine the contents, authorities said. Employees discovered two bags, each weighing one pound, of a substance investigators identified as meth.
