Man Arrested for Trying to Pay for Prostitute With Hamburger

Police arrested Dominic Calderon on Tuesday for solicitation after he allegedly attempted to pay an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute with a hamburger.

KRQE reported that Calderon, a 36-year-old registered sex offender was riding his bicycle on Central Avenue in Albuquerque on the evening of January 28 when he spotted the female officer. He approached her and asked how much it would be for a sexual encounter.

The pair agreed on a price, but Calderon told the officer that he could not pay it because he did not get paid from his job until Friday. He then asked for her phone number so he could enjoy her services later, KRQE reported.

The officer noticed that Calderon was carrying a bag from Chili's, according to The Smoking Gun, and asked him what was inside. He told her that it was a hamburger. At that point, the officer proposed that her fee could be the burger instead of cash. .............(more)

Access to pornography and legal prostitution both have a direct, provable negative correlation with rape and sexual assault.

" Researchers at a public research institute in the Netherlands discovered that when major cities in that country opened tippelzones, or areas where street prostitutes could work legally, reports of rape and sexual abuse declined by as much as 30 to 40 percent in the first two years after the zones were opened. In cities that licensed the prostitutes permitted to work in these tippelzones, rapes and sexual abuse dropped by as much as 40 percent, while the reductions in sexual violence were slightly lower in zones that did not enforce the licensing of sex workers." http://ftp.iza.org/dp9038.pdf

The number one reason I vote Dem, and oppose the Republican agenda, is that I have a deep seated hatred of wasting public resources, especially when the way they're using those resources is provably against the public health, and only serves the moralism fetish of a minority of this great society.
