Florida man retrieves golf ball off gator's back

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WFLA) — A wild video out of Cape Coral, Florida shows a golfer grab his ball off the back of an alligator.

The video, originally posted to Facebook, shows an alligator sunbathing by a golf course pond with a golf ball laying on top of its tail.

The golfer decides to drop his ball on the grass rather than play from the unfortunate lie (understandably), but first, he has to retrieve the ball. ............(more)

Everyone knows that in golf, you play the ball as it lies.

No free drops. No mulligans.

Geez.

In Florida if there is a lake a pond or a swamp, there is going to be alligators. As a younger man, I was a prolific fisherman, gators were a constant presence. Yea, I have been around gators all my life. You learn, early on, to not violate their space. The man who reached his arm out to get the ball was damn lucky he didn't lose that arm, or his life. He was a fool.

So, what was your point?

My point was that it is stupid to intentionally have a close interaction with an alligator. Other people deal with bears, or Moose; we live with alligators. And, no, we don't stay inside, but we do respect the animals in their habitat; after all, they were here first. Here is some people that did not:
