Watching the angry Bernie people's denial of the math is a little sad

Last edited Sat Apr 16, 2016, 06:18 PM - Edit history (1)

It reminds me a little of 08 when Hillary kept thinking she could defeat math. And that was actually a closer race than this one. When I see the angry vitriol against Hillary I also imagine the moment they realize math is real and more people have voted for Hillary. Those new to politics haven't ridden this ride yet. They'll learn what it's all about very soon.

1. They won't give up so easily

It will be interesting to read their OPs after Hillary get the nomination. Will they encourage a 3rd Party run, not voting in the GE, or voting for Hillary? They've boxed themselves in a corner with their name-calling and hatred.

3. They won't be able to spread the shit here anymore - the whining will be epic, and a few

could get banned. I think some of them are freepers here to stir shit anyway.

4. The ones who've gone full mindless

probably won't be able to vote for Hillary. But they are the minority. Hillary's supporters were furious in 08 but they did the right thing for Obama. It'll be that way again

9. Damn straight!

I was shocked when this upstart first-term Congressman took on Hillary and won.

It worked out alright.

Democrats were looking for change after eight years of Bush, war, and recession.

Now, Democrats are looking to keep what we have fought so hard to achieve, and working for more!

Not a Republican trifecta with a socialist independent nominee! Talk about shrinking the party!

6. Nothing will change.

Not when they can fall back on claiming that this, that, and everything else was rigged against them. That's their main message; everything is rigged.

No victory other than Bernie's will be declared legitimate. They've already been floating conspiracies about boards of elections somehow knowing who Bernie voters are so they could change their registrations, conspiracies about every election that didn't go their way being the result of fraud and tampering with the results, and now they're even floating conspiracies about election laws that have been on the books for decades being put in place just so that Bernie can't win.

For a group of people who like to talk about Bernie having 'high-information voters', they believe a whole lot of stuff that is utter nonsense.

8. Slogans are easy to follow, reality is more complicated

Cuomo said that today, and he is right. Movements like Bernie's always fail, sadly, for various reasons. In this case it's because more experienced voters realize Bernie hasn't actually come to us with a plan. Slogans don't pass through congress

7. After hearing the Sanders team saying the required number of delegates needs to be reached the

Pledged delegates, now this would be democratic, namely Hillary would have to have 2382 delegates from the pledged side. I am thinking Hillary just may get this number of pledged delegates and perhaps this would send the hell raising away.

10. Pffft - math is only something economic elites use

Sanders and his supporters don't need math. They have Bernie's inner light to guide them.

14. Yeah, but it won't end there

They'll see every state as the one that will turn it around, until it's over and there's no more states left. Then it will sink in. Get ready for the stages of dying- denial, anger, bargaining, depression, then acceptance. Right now they're at the first two.

15. Heavy on stage 2.

Just as the math is not working in Sander's favor to catch Hillary, it's not working in Hillary's favor to close this out in a hurry. Taking NY by 16 point increases her delegate lead only by about 40 delegates; a 10 point win increases her edge by 25.

You'll always have your fringe extremists, but once the reptile emerges from the RNC convention people will remember who the real enemy is
