Sanders Is In It To Lose It

He's already lost. Now, it's just a matter of how embarrassing it's going to get for him and what if any damage he will do to Hillary as he exits the race in what is turning out to be a display of utter classlessness.

The longer he drags on his losing charade, the less respect people will have for him. The less he will be a positive for the progressive cause and the health of the Democratic Party. And - truth be told- the less his message and attacks against Hillary will resonate. He'll be viewed as the sore loser he is, a symbol of progressive intransigence and belligerence that does no good for the progressive cause.

Hopefully he will be so demolished on Tuesday that even he will understand that it's time to exit the race, but I wouldn't count on it.

“It is over,” Lee Stonum, an avid Sanders supporter and public defender in Orange County, California, wrote on his Facebook page after the New York results were tallied. “I’m a little annoyed by the tone of the emails I’m now getting from the campaign that refuse to acknowledge this and claim there is still a path to the nomination. There is not.”

Democratic ticket. Chuck Schumer will be gracious, but if I had my druthers, he'd be relegated right back to his back bench status, and given no committee assignments, and certainly no chairmanships.

That's why I always refer to him as "Back Bench Bernie!".

If they need his vote to get a key majority or 60%, they'll play nice.

That is the only reason he continues. He must remain aggressive and decisive to keep the $$ coming in $27.00 at a time.

... it's pretty clear that his role in the Senate will be diminished. He can kiss goodbye any committee chairmanship. He'll not be offered any cabinet post. He'll be just another back-bench politician with no influence.

That would be a pretty sad way to go out... snubbed, rejected and marginalized... in the twilight of one's career. I hope that doesn't happen to him, but ultimately, it will be Bernie's choices and decisions that determine how his colleagues view him and treat him. If such a thing does happen, then Bernie will have nobody to blame but himself.

Or start building grass roots orgs for change. I doubt the latter because they are hard work and if he had wanted to do that, it would have started long ago.

He will withdraw and support Clinton.

I bet talks will begin then, if they haven't already. She will offer him a deal with the blessing of Congressional leadership. Maybe she will appoint him as Sec of Labor or another cabinet post.

Or ambassador to the Vatican 😄

He is not making a law.

I do not expect Sanders to have a significant impact after this effort. ( I expect that Clinton will be nominated.)
