ATTN:hosts. May I propose we exchange one of the Pinned Posts for a "Troll alert" thread?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1107112197#post15

If we pin a thread something to the effect like "Report Disruptions HERE" or something like that, hosts could check it occasionally and see more easily where/when disruptions occur. It makes it easier for members to communicate to you and keep the forum tidy.

Whatcha think?

3. Members who are blocked from participating in the HRC group can alert on anything.

... and they frequently do. It's like a hobby.

Previously, they were very successful in alert-stalking which would cause members to be put on a "time-out" for 90 days if they accumulated 5 hidden posts.

Fortunately, the owner/s of this web site saw how the alert system and jury votes were no longer being used as a tool for peer-reviewed civility, and INSTEAD the system was being ABUSED as a WEAPON to silence people who criticized Bernie.

This, was very easy for them to do because they have a 6 to 1 advantage, and the random juries would also have the same 6-1 makeup ... and the typical jury results were 6-1 against Hillary supporters. (Coincidence?)

So, as a temporary measure (until a new and improved jury system is unveiled later this year) the "time-out" penalty has been removed.

they would not be able to 'alert' a group they've been banned from.

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

By the way, thanks for this too:

7. Yeah, you'd think ... but, on the plus side, we can do it to them too.

Only ... personally, I don't see the entertainment value or satisfaction in it. It means I have to spend TIME in their little group, and why would I want to do that??

Thanks for the kind words!

4. Yeah but that doesn't show you who's on duty

And sending PMs to all of them seems an unnecessary imposition on them, and time consuming. I just thought this would be more efficient.

5. You just have to poke around the forum and see who's active.

Or choose two and send a couple of heads-up notices.

I usually pick Cha and Bill and the offender is gone within a few hours (sometimes sooner).

as "trolls". Some just wander in not knowing where they are and graciously bow out and even ask to self-delete.

I usually let them know why they were blocked.

I'll let hosts know with more seniority than I have about your request.

Thank you!
