Perspective from a Sanders supporter: Last night makes unity less painful

From ?@AlGiordano:

Everybody, read this. A Sanders supporter just emailed it to me. Will give you perspective.

That seems genuine to me. Then there's this for fun:

Here is a stat: 85 percent of Sanders voters tell pollsters they'll vote for Clinton in November.

?@chris_amundsen
@AlGiordano the other 15% all seem to have Twitter accounts...

Yup. And Daily Kos. And Reddit. And Democratic Underground. And Facebook. But they really need to get out more.

I have an interesting household as far as political composition

You have the hubs, a staunch R
You have the oldest son, a Dem who supported Sanders
You have the 2 women, my daughter and I, who enthusiastically support Hillary

All FOUR of us are voting for Hillary in November.

Hubs says Trump is not acceptable in any way, shape or form.
Oldest says that Sanders lost in March, and is just embarrassing himself now.

Delegates pretty split! He cut into her 300 lead by 10 or so only! She did not advertise or campaigned there!:

She campaigned, Pres Clinton campaigned, her state surrogates campaigned. She didn't spend any ad money, saving it for the general.

Plus, even though she lost the state, she still won Marion and Lake counties. Those are the DIVERSE counties in a very white, very RED state.

We don't talk politics now.. I miss that.. we were on the same page for so long and then BS fever hit the scene.

I can't wait until we're all united against trump.

are split. The older son, like me, supports Hillary (early on, he was a MOM supporter). The younger son likes Sanders. Neither has voted in the primaries yet, but will in June. Both will support Hillary in the GE.

As for the "steps," two sons like Bernie mainly because their kids (millennial "grands&quot do, our daughter and hers are staunch Hillary supporters, and the fourth step is Trans who likes Bernie right now, but is more Libertarian than anything else and HATES the GOP with a passion.

My husband and I are firmly in Hillary's corner and have been since the beginning. Every other family member (including in-laws) will support Hillary in the GE, no matter who they support now.

Every single voter in our family understands exactly what is at stake.

The day after our NY win, I drove by and there was a Hillary sign up right next to it.

It made an impact on me.

Glad your family can agree. It would be rough otherwise. The best I'll get out of my dad is that he won't vote Trump.

My daughter and her wife preferred BS but always made sure to note that Hillary would be great too.

BS even had a surrogate (one, that I know about) that didn't embarrass him. Sarah Silverman said she liked Hillary but loved Bernie, or something like that.

So I wouldn't look for any great big unity gesture from those types of BSers. They were ready to swing to Hillary from the get.

way back when primary voting started, when 80% of Bernie voters said that they were glad to have Hillary as their second choice and that they respected her ("second choice" and "respect" asked by the pollster). That 80% was only the ones glad to have her as their backup.

not when you're trying to attract ALL of us to your nominee. I'll be so glad when all the Bros have gone away.
